[edit] questions people ask
Does it come into conflict with other tasks that need to be preformed?
- lifestreaming often does take a significant amount of time. however, since it is the basis of my research it is all "wisely spent". additionally, although it takes time upfront, it tends to pay off when i am searching for particular notes or photos to remember an event or back up a point. it's like a digital memory.
Does it have ill effects on your eyesight?
- not sure what you mean about ill effects on my eyesight. like my vision? no ill effects there. if you mean my view on the world - well i do tend to be rather selfish and lifestreaming sort of increases self absorption, but i interact with and am influenced by many more people than i would if not doing it.
How does it differ from self reflection?
- it differs from self reflection (or a diary or journal) because it is largely public (which results in a certain accountability or self enforced morality) and it is social, meaning people can participate/interact/influence my data and information. when others can share their opinion on my posts/data/ideas i tend to make much more progress in my work.

"Hi Jessica / Hi Kelly,
I trust that you have both been keeping well.
You might have noticed that I've left you both alone for a little while. I'm sure you've missed me (not).
I have been catching up on some older BBC Digital Planet podcasts and have been listening to some articles that you both might feel of interest
They can be found at: http://www.bbc.co.uk/worldservice/specialreports/digitalplanet_archive.shtml. Hopefully you can access it from the US.
The first one is from 21/07/2009. 13.5 minute into the programme, there is a story of digital assets when you die.
The second is from 28/07/2009. More of the programme is relevant. Initially 7 minutes in there is an interview with Harvard Law Professor Jonathan Zittrain referring to trust being the backbone of the internet. (Picking up on points raised in Jessica's wiki ?)Then 18 minutes in there is story of a Japanese Professor who is "interviewed" about how he logs and photographs and keeps a diary of his food consumption.
Hope you find them of use."
